This position plays a central role in advancing the Division’s mission by ensuring consistent, accurate, and strategic internal and external communications while managing legislative and policy coordination functions to support the agency’s overall goals. This position provides support to the Division’s Public Information Specialist to ensure the development and dissemination of accurate, timely and effective public information in alignment with the Division’s communication objectives Monitor legislative calendars, House and Senate committee meetings, EOG press conferences and news releases, and proposed legislation that could affect the Agency or Division and advising Division leadership of relevant updates. Conduct specifically assigned analysis of proposed legislation and coordinating review of draft analyses with Division subject matter expert(s). Tracking, reviewing and assisting with analyzing the impacts of approved law and rule changes on Division and Commission policy and procedures. Coordinating communications and distribution of information related to approved legislation and rules via the website and other channels as appropriate. Coordinate performance-based program budget and long-range performance plan processes; developing, verifying, and reporting progress toward achieving performance measures, goals, and standards. Coordinating and developing documentation, summaries, proposals, and presentations for legislative budget requests that may impact the Division of Law Enforcement’s core missions. Plan and develop the Division’s internal and external communications strategies to ensure effective information dissemination throughout the Division and to external audiences, including stakeholders, FWC employees, other agencies, the media and the public. Overseeing communications strategies to include Identifying most effective messaging, what audio and visual assets are required, best communications distribution channels and analyzing campaigns to determine if goals were met. Research, create, write, edit, design, format and distribute communications materials such as law enforcement working group, committee and conference summary reports; summaries of Division achievements; strategic or operational plans, division manuals and SOPs; and talking points, news releases, newsletters, videos, graphics, website updates, social media content, PowerPoint presentations, award nominations, and official correspondence. Reviewing text, audio and visual materials produced and/or edited by the public information coordinator for distribution to internal audiences, stakeholders, and the media. Assists the Director, Deputy Directors and Chief with special projects. Coordinates with the Division’s ADA Compliance coordinator to plan and implement efforts to meet WACG requirements. Coordinate with leadership to update the strategies and goals in the Division’s Strategic Vision and Framework document. Also assists with integrating the Division of Law Enforcement’s core mission, strategies and goals into the Agency’s Stategic Vision. Conduct research and analysis to support management decisions and develop recommendations to improve organizational processes and communication efficiency. Solicit, receive, coordinate and respond to questions and suggestions from all division employees. Draft speeches and talking points for others, performing limited public speaking, and facilitating internal and external workshops and meetings.
