About The Position

We are currently seeking new or recent graduates to join our Management Development Program. This is a full-time, salaried position with a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to earn profit sharing. Successful candidates may be required to relocate within Canada to complete their training, with relocation assistance provided. Opportunities are available across the country. As a Management Trainee, you will progress through a 4-phased program to learn every aspect of how our business operates – from shipping and receiving, counter sales, operations management to employee development and more. You will get to know our customers by growing a sales territory of your own and providing world-class customer service. You will receive guidance, mentoring, and support from current managers and teammates within a region and across Canada to build a successful management career at EMCO. Program Outline: Phase 1 (12 months): Warehouse and Customer Service – Build product knowledge and gain hands-on experience with the logistical side of the business. Learn about customer service, counter sales, order management, inventory and pricing controls, credit management, and financial statements. Phase 2 (12 months): Customer Relationships and Procurement – Progress from assisting customers with service issues to managing large-scale projects and problem-solving. Build relationships with customers and vendors, provide world-class service, and learn to read blueprints to create material quotes. Phase 3 (15-18 months): Account Management and Proactive Sales – Focus on business development, learning to find new opportunities, sell products, negotiate contracts, and expand the customer base, creating level 5 customer partnerships. Phase 4 (3 months): Leadership and Operations – Provide strategic vision, lead a team, mentor others, and run the business by developing leadership competencies, supporting the team through coaching and mentoring, and setting vision and strategy. Upon completion of the training phases, you will be prepared to take on the challenge of being a manager at one of our Canadian Profit Center locations.

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma – all disciplines of study will be considered

  • Strong interest in sales
  • Valid driver’s license
