About The Position

In addition, the program includes the Clifton Strengths assessment, offering you personalized feedback to identify your natural strengths and enhance both your personal and professional development. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a strong foundation for your future career in public administration. The Management Aide internship is a six-month assignment. Work schedules and hours may vary by department based on operational needs and the requirements of the assigned position. Upon successful completion of the initial six-month internship, participants may have an opportunity to compete for an extended internship assignment, depending on City needs, available funding, and the applicable selection process. The Management Aide Program offers various internship opportunities across multiple City departments, providing interns with the opportunity to apply their education in a professional setting and gain firsthand experience in different areas of municipal government. Internship opportunities may be available in the following departments: Office of the City Manager, Community Development Department, Community Services Department, Finance Department, General Services Department, Public Works Department, and other City departments based on operational needs and available opportunities.

Requirements

  • Recent graduates of a Bachelor's program; or Current graduate students or recent graduates of a Master's program in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Six months of experience in a public sector setting.
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in public administration.
  • Candidates must have graduated within one year of submitting their application.
  • Candidates who are expected to graduate with their bachelor's degree before the start of the internship must complete their degree requirements prior to the program’s start date.
  • Candidates must have officially graduated by October 2026 to be eligible for consideration.
