About The Position

Schneider Downs Managed Accounting Services (MAS) is focused on providing accounting leadership and support services to businesses that either have limited resources, staffing challenges or wish to supplement their existing resources with additional technical expertise. MAS brings the right talent and expertise, whether a client needs to implement a full accounting solution or are searching for supplemental support to your existing team, MAS can help our clients achieve their goals through services, such as: CFO Services, Controller Services and Full Accounting Solutions. As a Managed Accounting Manager, you will be working in a team environment with our professionals in our MAS practice to provide outsourced accounting services to a variety of clients. MAS provides CFO and Controller level consulting, as well as fully outsourced accounting assistance. In this role, you will focus on all areas relating to financial reporting for firm clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum of five years of professional working experience
  • CPA and/or CAAS certification
  • Prior operational accounting experience, such as A/P, A/R, Payroll, Cash and Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Excellent analytical, research and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to communicate with team members and clients
  • Ability to quickly learn and work on new systems
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in client service, as well as coaching, mentoring and managing staff
  • Not-for-profit experience
  • Experience using QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Bill.com, ADP, Paychex or other ERP, AP, payroll and spend management systems
  • Travel may be required on occasion

Responsibilities

  • Review month-end close and reporting packages for presentation to either senior managers and or client
  • Assist with ongoing practice development including process improvement, business development, training and development and client deliverables
  • Supervise, manage and train senior and staff accountants
  • Oversight of project management software to support team utilization and assignments
  • Become an expert in all technology to support our process and client experience
  • Develop and sustain relationships with client executives and senior management
  • Review engagement profitability and prepare and analyze monthly billing for assigned engagements
