About The Position

The Mammography Technologist will perform mammographic, Dexa, and planar X-ray procedures on patients according to state, federal, professional, and departmental standards and guidelines. This role involves reviewing requisitions and patient data to ensure all pertinent information is available, performing examinations with a high standard of accuracy in positioning, and selecting appropriate technical factors for quality images. The technologist will also manage computer functions for patient charging and image interpretation, utilize the PenRad system, and perform QA tasks to maintain required annual licensure and CME as per MQSA guidelines. Additionally, the role requires delivering age-appropriate care, maintaining open communication with leadership, contributing to the team, and demonstrating multitasking and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements

  • State, federal, professional and departmental standards and guidelines for mammographic, Dexa and planar Xray procedures.
  • High standard of accuracy in positioning.
  • Ability to select appropriate technical factors to ensure quality images.
  • Proficiency in computer functions for patient charging and image interpretation.
  • Experience with EPIC/Centricity PACS.
  • Proper utilization of the PenRad system.
  • Ability to accurately and effectively perform QA.
  • Maintain required annual licensure/CME.
  • Ability to assist in all aspects of tracking as per MQSA guidelines.
  • Ability to access, interpret, communicate and deliver age-appropriate care.
  • Ability to maintain open communication with site leadership.
  • Ability to contribute to the team and work cooperatively with peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to seek pro-active solutions to address questions concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mammographic, Dexa and planar Xray procedures on patients according to state, federal, professional and departmental standards and guidelines.
  • Reviews each requisition/questionnaire and record prior to the exam to ensure all pertinent information is available.
  • Performs examinations with a high standard of accuracy in positioning.
  • Selects appropriate technical factors to ensure quality images.
  • Assembles and reviews patient data, history, proper two patient identifiers.
  • Verifies physician orders and ensures information for radiologist’s interpretation is available (outside images, reports etc.).
  • Perform all computer functions properly to ensure proper patient charging and image interpretation.
  • Performs patient charging and completes exam end procedures in and EPIC/Centricity PACS.
  • Proper utilization of the PenRad system.
  • Accurately and effectively performs QA, maintain required annual licensure/CME and responsible to assist in all aspect of tracking as per MQSA guidelines.
  • Able to access, interpret, communicate and deliver age-appropriate care.
  • Maintains open communication with site leadership.
  • Contributes to the team and works cooperatively with peers.
