About The Position
Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Mammography Services, the Mammography Technologist is responsible for the services at The Breast & Imaging Center to include areas of mammography and/or bone densitometry; exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics; provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience
- ARRT registered and Certified as a Medical Radiologic Technologist
- Associate degree or radiologic graduate of an accredited radiology program
Nice To Haves
- Quality control experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for breast imaging procedures by accurately assessing patients’ needs and providing patient education.
- Operates breast imaging equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentations of images and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal images.
- Prepare patients’ films for interpretation by a radiologist.
- Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
- Practices radiation safety measures.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
