About The Position

As a Mammography Technologist, you'll play a vital role in potentially saving lives by performing high-quality breast imaging procedures that screen for and diagnose breast cancer. You'll combine your technical expertise with compassionate patient care, helping ease anxiety during these personal and sometimes stressful procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients, ensuring proper positioning and compression techniques, and maintaining the highest safety standards while producing exceptional diagnostic images. Using your independent judgment and following established protocols, you'll verify provider orders, evaluate image quality, and prepare comprehensive documentation for timely interpretation. Requirements

Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensure by the state regulatory agency as applicable.
Advance certification by accrediting body in Mammography required within 18 months of hire.
BLS certification required.
Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check (includes: employment, criminal and education) are required.

Nice To Haves

CDL preferred for roles supporting mobile medical unit.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility.

Responsibilities

Performs procedures by following and verifying referring providers’ orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes.
Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures if applicable in accordance with established policies if applicable.
Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to safety policies.
Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to the radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
Independently performs prescribed procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols to patients.
