About The Position

Orlando Health is a large healthcare system with 15 wholly-owned hospitals and a wide range of services including rehabilitation, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging, laboratory services, and more. This role focuses on acting as a partner with employing departments to develop and implement strategies for sourcing, identifying, and recruiting qualified applicants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or related field including Health Care or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience on a 1:1 basis, offsetting experience must be in the field of Recruitment.
  • Three (3) years of HR experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required, including intermediate to advanced Excel and Outlook skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advice and guidance to leadership concerning recruitment strategies and hiring policies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, as well as Orlando Health policies and regulations.
  • Counsels, advises and assists leadership in lateral moves, promotional offers, internal equity and interview practices/techniques.
  • Engages, collaborates and partners with all levels of management to fill positions in a timely manner.
  • Confers with leadership on matters involving hiring decisions related to market data, organizational initiatives, policy and operational needs.
  • Partners with other HR functional areas to include HR site, Education, Compensation, HR Solutions Center and Benefits in order to support the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Collaborates, counsels and assists in the new hire on-boarding process and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations to include Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations concerning employment.
  • Meets with managers to discuss needs and develop recruitment plans. Conducts regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Partners with departmental leadership to develop line-of-business specific advertising collateral.
  • Works closely with state, Federal, collegiate, and professional entities to surface qualified candidates.
  • Reviews applications and transfer requests for qualifications against departmental expectations. Analyzes the knowledge, skills and experience of candidates.
  • Conducts regular follow-up with managers on routed applicants.
  • Conducts prescreening interviews to assess the personal and professional qualifications of applicants.
  • Participates in department interviews.
  • Prepares job offers.
  • Ensures that applicants are treated professionally, has a comprehensive understanding of the job for which they are applying, and has a positive perception of Orlando Health irrespective of the outcome to the interview process.
  • Works in close cooperation with hiring departments, extends offers of employment, following Orlando Health guidelines, to successful applicants.
  • Seeks direction from Talent Acquisition Manager or Assistant Manager for offers outside of identified guidelines.
  • Attends meetings/in-services and presents information in department and other meetings as requested.
  • Professionally represents Orlando Health at job fairs, professional conferences, and other venues. Networks through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees. Communicates with managers and team members regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads.
  • Provides work direction to the support staff to ensure the achievement of departmental objectives.
  • Maintains all pertinent applicant and interview data in the human resources information system. Ensures that all records related to on-boarding a new candidate are properly maintained.
  • May conduct or participate in exit interviews to assess trends.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Tracks trends and developments in assigned areas.
  • Participates in working groups, councils and committees.
  • Participates in development of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Continually seeks to improve overall function of department.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Familiarizes customers with established human resources procedures, processes, and time frames.
  • Exhibits positive and tactful written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizes and expedites flow of work.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all Orlando Health information.
  • Knowledgeable of Human Resources guidelines, processes and policies.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and customer service skills when dealing with Orlando Health staff, management, and visitors.
  • Possesses the ability to comfortably interact with all individuals from various walks of life and differing hierarchical levels within the organization.
  • Assists other HR functions and the departments that she/he supports on an as needed basis.
  • Handles special projects.
