About The Position

Responsible for operating radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians. May perform invasive diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

Requirements

Associate's Graduate of an accredited program in radiological technology or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire
Mammography (M) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Required to work toward and complete certification in Mammography within 1 Year
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others
Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds

Responsibilities

Prepares and positions patients and explains imaging tests and promotes breast health and education.
Adjusts equipment for images.
Participates with mobile mammogram technology as scheduled.
Documents processes and prepares images for Radiologist interpretation and organizes reports after reading is complete, per policy.
Assists with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation.
Identifies, screens, interviews and prepares patients prior to requested exam and/or procedure.
May assist with performing invasive diagnostic procedures according to established standards.
Participates in breast imaging quality control and quality assurance.
Maintains supply ordering and stocking including laundry.
Assists the interpreting physician with interventional breast procedures.
