About The Position

This is a part-time Mammography Technologist position requiring three 10-hour shifts per week. Available shift times include 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, or 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM. Specific days of the week will be discussed during the interview process. This role offers an excellent work-life balance with no weekend or on-call requirements. You will be required to work one holiday shift per year.

Requirements

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Requires certification in Mammography (M) through the ARRT within 12 months of hire.
  • If performing breast ultrasound, must obtain credential through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS): RDMS(BR); American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): RT(S)(BS), or RT(R)(M)(BS); within 18 months of hire.
  • Requires current license through Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Requires ability to learn breast ultrasound procedures, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently meets Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality diagnostic and screening mammographic studies utilizing a knowledge of anatomic positions.
  • Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed.
  • Reviews prior imaging to attain and/or improve tissue visualization as compared to prior studies.
  • Complies with FDA MQSA Regulations.
  • Assists with mammographs, ultrasound, and MR guided breast localizations and biopsies.
  • May perform screening breast ultrasound procedures as required by local facility.
