Responsibilities

  • Performs screening and diagnostic breast imaging and procedures.
  • Produces ACR quality images in both diagnostic and screening exams.
  • Interacts with clinicians and other departments to coordinate patient care.
  • Ensures clinical data is correct and appropriate in the Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS systems.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities in the department.
  • Maintains appropriate quality control records and participates in routine equipment testing and maintenance.
  • Willing to train and interact with students and new hires when necessary.
  • Performs screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound and all interventional and invasive procedures in the Mammography Department.
  • Serves as a resource for the Imaging technologists in the Breast Imaging department.
  • Suggests changes in procedures, and quality improvement.
  • Coordinates training and development of the Mammography Technologist.
  • Demonstrates mastery of all hospital or clinical imaging competencies.
  • Independently performs procedures on adults, geriatric and adolescent age groups.
  • Provides input for annual performance evaluations.
  • Coordinates equipment basic maintenance as required.
  • Complies with all regulatory mandates for mammography.
