About The Position

The Mammography Technologist performs technical activities associated with screening and diagnostic mammography procedures to obtain high quality images of the breasts. They assist radiologists in diagnostic procedures, including but not limited to stereotactic imaging and biopsy, to evaluate and diagnose physiological changes in breast patterns and serve as an integral part of providing an exceptional patient care experience.

Requirements

• ARRT registered mammography technologists
• Diagnostic, biopsy, stereo and/or breast ultrasound experience
• ARRT Mammography registered
• BLS
• CPR
• Graduate of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Computer literate
• Ability to read and interpret medical reports, extract pertinent information from them and present that information in a concise and appropriate manner
• Anatomic knowledge of breast tissue pattern and related structures as well as breast pathology and treatment of breast pathology
• Knowledge of radiographic technique and positioning
• Knowledge of ultrasound positioning and anatomy
• Proficient in diagnostic imaging and stereotactic biopsy and imaging
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent customer service, both internal and external
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Performs technical activities associated with screening and diagnostic mammography procedures to obtain high quality images of the breasts.
• Assists radiologists in diagnostic procedures, including but not limited to stereotactic imaging and biopsy, to evaluate and diagnose physiological changes in breast patterns.
• Serves as an integral part of providing an exceptional patient care experience.
