About The Position

Envision Imaging of North Arlington is looking for a Part Time Mammography Technologist to join our team! This role involves performing routine and diagnostic exams related to breast anatomy and bone density, aiming to obtain high-quality images with minimal supervision. The technologist will interface with patients to gather medical history, provide instructions, and educate them on procedures and breast self-examination. Key responsibilities include reviewing patient charts, screening for implants and allergies, obtaining prior imaging, performing Bone Density and Mammography exams with attention to patient care, transferring images, coordinating protocols with the Radiologist, maintaining equipment, and communicating departmental concerns to leadership.

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
  • Registry in Mammography (M)
  • Registry in Bone Densitometry (BD) through ARRT or Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT) through ISCD
  • Complete 40 hours of mammography orientation
  • Complete 8 hours of 3D tomosynthesis training (if applicable)
  • Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification

Nice To Haves

  • Two plus years’ experience in Mammography
  • Two plus years’ experience in Bone Density

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image. Also provides patient education on breast self-examination as needed.
  • Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
  • Obtains prior imaging as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
  • Performs Bone Density and Mammography exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
  • Transfers images to other locations as needed.
  • Coordinates procedure protocols with Radiologist.
  • Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
  • Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
