About The Position

This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement and initiative.

Requirements

Minimum Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience
2 years as a registered Mammography Technologist
ARRT registered (RT) in radiography (R) and mammography (M)
CPR – American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

Performs all essential job responsibilities of a Mammography Technologist, including but not limited to performing age-specific diagnostic imaging per established protocols.
Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, physicians and other team members.
Addresses patient and physician concerns.
Responds to adverse events and/or any changes with patient's status.
Acts as a day-to-day mentor/resource for staff and others within the department.
Orients and trains new staff and students.
Performs and/or trains others relative to quality assurance activities, quality control, and regulatory testing and accreditation preparation/documentation.
Participates in standardization activities and process improvement initiatives with system-level workgroups.
Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of specialty exams and analyzes data promptly to resolve problems and improve efficiency.
Coverage of chief tech duties for PTO or vacancy.
