About The Position

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is expanding its services with the opening of the Health Pavilion at Sawmill Centre near Summerville in 2026. This expansion includes a 40,000-square-foot ambulatory center and a 20,000-square-foot medical office building, aiming to provide enhanced access to emergency care, imaging, lab services, outpatient surgery, and women’s health. The Mammography Technologist Registered position is a PRN (as needed) role located at the Sawmill Centre, starting in February 2026. The technologist will perform mammography procedures under the supervision of Certified Radiologists, assist with procedures as needed, and supervise student technologists. The role also involves maintaining good customer relations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals.
  • At least 6 months experience in radiologic technology.
  • Completion of 40 hours Mammography training.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiologic Technology and Mammography.
  • Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
  • Certified or documentation that certification has been applied for with the SCRQSA.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MQSA, OSHA, DHEC, FDA and TJC standards and regulations.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Mature individual who projects a professional and business-like appearance.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information.

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures for the direct results of interpretation following established protocol and under the medical supervision of Certified Radiologists.
  • Assist the Radiologists on procedures as needed.
  • Be responsible for supervision of student Radiologic Technologists assigned to them.
  • Encourage and maintain good customer relations.
  • Perform and teach Mammography exams to produce satisfactory diagnostic images for interpretation.
  • Operate Breast Imaging and post processing equipment safely.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Perform quality control to meet MQSA standards.
