About The Position

The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. The department/center is a Center of Excellence 3 years in a row, an ACR Mammography Accredited Facility, and has 100% Breast Dedicated Radiologists on-site.

Requirements

• Texas Medical Board License - TMB
• Current ARRT in Mammography certification or eligible to take advanced level exam with documentation of clinical experience
• Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Continuing Education: MQSA/FDA- 15 CEU’s every 3 years, 200-documented case numbers every 2 years

Nice To Haves

• Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred

• Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health
• Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions
• Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned
