About The Position

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography (M).
  • Valid state licensure or certification as required by the state of employment.
  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program with clinical experience in mammography.
  • Strong knowledge of mammography equipment operation, radiation safety, and patient positioning techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide compassionate patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a hospital or outpatient imaging center setting.
  • Additional certifications such as Breast Ultrasound or Quality Assurance in Mammography.
  • Familiarity with digital mammography and tomosynthesis technology.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and imaging software systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuing education.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and screening mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
  • Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain optimal breast images while minimizing discomfort.
  • Operate and maintain mammography equipment, ensuring proper calibration and adherence to quality control procedures.
  • Review images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed patient records, document procedures, and comply with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Educate patients about the mammography process, addressing any questions or concerns to alleviate anxiety.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in mammography technology and best practices.
