About The Position

The Mammography Tech operates imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population. The role requires precision, professionalism, and a commitment to quality patient care in accordance with West Cancer Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The position performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods, maintains compliance with regulatory and quality standards, manages supplies and equipment, and supports a safe, patient-centered care environment. The tech may occasionally demonstrate and instruct student technologists.

Requirements

Complete a formal radiography education program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.
Hold certification and registration as R.T. (R) ARRT.
Obtain Mammography certification and registry within six months of hire.
Hold a state license in accordance with state regulations.
Hold BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
Have basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures.
Have effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, policies, and procedures.
Manage resources effectively, including supplies and equipment.
Demonstrate professionalism and excellent customer service in all interactions.
Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.
Occasionally demonstrate and provide instruction to student technologists.
Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
