About The Position

We are partnering with a growing healthcare provider organization that operates community-based ambulatory care clinics and medical practices throughout Santa Clara County. The organization is focused on delivering coordinated, patient-centered healthcare while improving the overall patient experience through collaboration, compassion, and quality care. The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic breast imaging procedures using mammography equipment under the supervision of a licensed physician or radiologist. This role supports the diagnosis of breast-related conditions while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and imaging accuracy. The technologist will also assist with advanced breast imaging procedures and maintain compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an AMA-approved program
  • Current ARRT certification
  • Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license
  • Current California Mammography Certificate
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical mammography experience
  • Experience working with RIS and PACS imaging systems
  • Typing proficiency of at least 40 WPM
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent patient service and relationship-building abilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams
  • Guide patients through imaging procedures with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication
  • Monitor patient condition and comfort during procedures and respond appropriately to any concerns or medical issues
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging studies to obtain optimal diagnostic images
  • Adjust equipment settings and exposure factors based on patient anatomy and imaging requirements
  • Utilize proper radiation safety and protection practices for patients and staff
  • Assist radiologists with specialized breast imaging procedures including image-guided biopsies, needle localizations, and ductograms
  • Demonstrate proficiency across all breast imaging procedures, including minimally invasive studies
  • Ensure all patient studies are accurately prepared and presented for physician interpretation, including clinical history, physician orders, and demographics
  • Participate in daily and weekly quality assurance and quality control activities in accordance with manufacturer standards and regulatory requirements
  • Process and review images for quality, accuracy, and proper patient identification
  • Maintain records and documentation related to EQUIP compliance, physicist reports, technologist and radiologist certifications, continuing education, and department protocols
  • Support state and federal inspection readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, safety, infection control, and organizational policies
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance checks and coordinate repairs when needed
  • Prepare images for radiologist interpretation
  • Maintain logs, reports, and records related to imaging procedures and departmental operations
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff to support efficient patient care
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
