About The Position

At NORY, we design learning journeys where every child in NYC and Boston becomes a risk-taking entrepreneur, inquisitive problem solver, and empathetic leader. As the largest STEM camp provider in NYC with 4000+ campers annually, we are the Disney World of STEM education, where each learning experience is magical, impactful, and memorable.

Requirements

  • Portfolio of maker projects in electronics (circuits, motors), woodworking, 3D printing, laser cutting, Arduino, computing controllers and platforms (Raspberry Pi, Microbits), and coding tools like Scratch.
  • Explanation of the purpose and educational potential behind creations.
  • Deep understanding of children aged 3-12.
  • Strong multi-channel communication skills, particularly in video formats.
  • Passion for hands-on engineering, design-thinking, and mechatronics.
  • Ability to design learning experiences that inspire young minds through prototyping and experience design.
  • Eagerness to lead efforts in nurturing Generation Alpha.

Nice To Haves

  • Coding skills will be an asset, especially for enabling older children to engage in advanced robotic projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design and fabricate hands-on STEM camp projects in robotics, engineering, and woodworking, tailored for children aged 3-12.
  • Utilize intellectual curiosity to integrate multiple learning domains into a unified, interdisciplinary experience that spans STEM and beyond.
  • Develop thematic worlds as immersive and engaging as a Disney World ride, leveraging storytelling skills to enhance educational impact.
  • Empower teachers across all NORY campuses to consistently deliver the vision, using multi-channel communication skills, particularly in video formats.
  • Apply deep understanding of children aged 3-12 to tailor projects to their developmental stages and interests.
  • Train and coach teachers to become the rock stars of campsites, enabling them to effectively utilize the tools and projects developed.
