Job Summary The Major Giving Officer manages a portfolio of donors and prospects with the capacity to contribute $10,000 or more annually. This role is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding high-net-worth individuals through consistent personal engagement, with a strong focus on in-person meetings and cultivation events. The Major Giving Officer will secure revenue through multiple giving channels, including cash, pledges, gifts of stock, and planned gifts.
Requirements
- 3 Years of Experience
- Identification, acquisition, solicitation, and stewardship of annual/major gifts.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in healthcare a plus.
- 2 Year / Associate Degree
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
- Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Responsibilities
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current and prospective major donors capable of giving $10,000 or more annually.
- Manage donor and prospect activity, independently and collaboratively with network colleagues, to advance relationships and secure philanthropic support.
- Maintain accurate records and track engagement activities in Salesforce CRM.
- Utilize wealth screening information, other research, and networks of existing donors, board members, community leaders and leadership to identify prospective major donors.
- Provide quarterly revenue projections and forecasting for the portfolio.
- Develop highly personalized proposals, stewardship reports, and donor communications that align with the donor's interests and demonstrate impact and gratitude.
- Manage an effective moves management system to ensure timely identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for all major gift donors.
- Represent the organization at fundraising events and donor meetings, including travel as required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Bassett's mission and involvement in the life of the communities it serves.
