About The Position
We're hiring a polished, experienced maitre'd to lead the guest experience on our front-of-house team at Kindred Restaurant in Davidson, NC. This role is suited to a hospitality professional who takes pride in warm first impressions, seamless pacing, and setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. We are looking for someone with a passion for people and hospitality. Kindred is an upscale casual restaurant and the flagship of a growing local restaurant group, with several other restaurants in the area owned by Joe & Katy Kindred. Our culinary team has earned numerous James Beard Foundation nominations along with other national and local accolades. We're known for seasonally-driven menus, craft beer and cocktail programs, and stellar wine lists — and we're looking for servers who bring the same level of care to the guest experience that our kitchen brings to the plate.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a maitre'd, host lead, or front-of-house manager required; upscale or fine dining experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of reservation and table management systems
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests, setting the tone for their dining experience
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table flow to optimize seating and pacing
- Anticipate guest needs, handle special requests, and resolve concerns with professionalism
- Coordinate closely with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service
- Train, support, and set the standard for hosts and front-of-house support staff
- Maintain a polished, organized, and welcoming host stand and entryway
- Uphold the restaurant's standards for hospitality, presentation, and service at all times
- Support leadership during high-volume, fast-paced shifts
