Requirements

  • 3- 5 years working in upscale, full-service dining.
  • Flexible schedule, including working mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Organized, detailed and able to follow established club practices and procedures.
  • Well-groomed and professional in appearance in compliance with published standards.
  • Proficient with technology and Microsoft applications.
  • TABC & Food Handler Certified.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Accepts and records reservations from the ROCC website, in person, phone calls and or referrals from PBX
  • Seats the room according to reservations and seating protocol outlined in Maître D training manual.
  • Adheres to and enforces dress code and hospitality standards as communicated through the River Oaks Country Club Employee Handbook.
  • Plans dining room and table set-up based upon anticipated Member/guest counts.
  • Supervises staff performance to comply with ROCC A la Carte steps of service and standards
  • Maintains a presence in their assigned dining area from the beginning to end of service.
  • Receives and addresses feedback concerning food, beverages, and service. Take corrective action.
  • Serves as liaison between the dining room and kitchen staff.
  • Works with culinary and beverage teams to build and successfully execute promotions in dining areas.
  • Ensures all side work is completed according to Club standards
  • Assists managers with pre-shift meetings. Relays information and verifies policy changes are implemented as they occur.
  • Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of dining areas, equipment and fixtures.
  • Checks for the proper functioning of all equipment in the dining room. Initiates reporting of any deficiencies and follows through until properly resolved.
  • Responsible for assuring that staff have correctly and completely closed all member checks at the end of each shift and have closed their day in the point-of-sale system.
  • Report cover counts at the conclusion of their shift in the Monthly Cover Count Sheets located on the shared drive, using the A La Carte laptop.
