About The Position

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for general maintenance of company properties' buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure the properties are well-maintained and operational.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and smell.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment is indoors and outdoors, frequently exposed to all types of weather conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school certification and mechanical repair courses or equivalent experience, a plus.
  • Experience in one or more relevant fields, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, landscaping, etc., a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains grounds and parking lots, performing garbage pick-up, minor routine parking lot repairs, landscaping, weeding, and other related maintenance activities.
  • Maintains building by performing minor and routine painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical wiring, tile repair, and other related maintenance activities.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on equipment, including small engines and electrical motors.
  • Notifies the supervisor of the need for significant lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment repairs.
  • Maintains motor vehicles (trucks, tractors, salters, and plows).
  • Repairs and maintains all doors and entryway hardware.
  • Cleans snow and debris from sidewalks and parking lots.
  • Mows lawn, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers.
  • Replaces lightbulbs.
  • Operates power tools and equipment.
