About The Position

Coleman Care centre located in Barrie, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a LTC Maintenance Worker to join their team. This is a temporary, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly, working the first weekend. The tentative start date is May 4, 2026. Requirements

  • Comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Understand the physical expectations of maintenance work.
  • Ability to handle Resident’s personal items with care and respect.
  • Ability to communicate the nature of mechanical problems and possible solutions effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
  • General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems, and air exchange units.
  • Ability to deal with the fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment for the Village.
  • Caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with a team.
  • Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting.
  • Awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
