Maintenance - LTC, Temp full time
About The Position
Coleman Care centre located in Barrie, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a LTC Maintenance Worker to join their team. This is a temporary, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly, working the first weekend. The tentative start date is May 4, 2026. Requirements
- Comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Understand the physical expectations of maintenance work.
- Ability to handle Resident’s personal items with care and respect.
- Ability to communicate the nature of mechanical problems and possible solutions effectively with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
- General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems, and air exchange units.
- Ability to deal with the fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment for the Village.
- Caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Ability to work in collaboration with a team.
- Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting.
- Awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures.
- Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
