About The Position

Assists in repairing and maintaining MLHS facilities, equipment, and grounds. Performs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Boiler Special Engineer's license within 90 days of employment with expectation of advancing to 1-C Boiler license.
  • Minnesota valid driver's license, at least 21 years old with clean driving record.
  • At least 2 years of experience in maintenance related field, preferably health care.
  • Mechanical and equipment repair ability required.
  • Ability to work in team orientated setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of function of fire alarm system, sprinkler system, nurse call system, oxygen alarms, clinic alarms.
  • Knowledge of Plumbing, Carpentry and Electrical.

Responsibilities

  • Completes monthly preventative maintenance list on HVAC system.
  • Communicates any repairs to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Checks pumps, motors and electrical equipment daily.
  • Boiler log sheet is completed daily and signed off on per State codes.
  • Completes monthly/quarterly required tests on boiler, reports any abnormal condition to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Completes required training as determined by Supervisor or Manager on our Siemens computer control heating/air conditioning system.
  • Works on call hours as scheduled per Supervisor or Manager on rotating basis.
  • Completes computerized maintenance management system tickets a timely basis (daily) reporting completion issues to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Works independently with little or no supervision.
  • Manages time on assigned projects.
  • Change gaskets on stools and faucets.
  • Ability to solder pipes and other repairs.
  • Install shelving, desks, television brackets and/or cabinets.
  • Cleans equipment on schedule.
  • Understands and follows lockout/tag-out procedures.
  • Adheres confined space policy.
  • Understands procedures and responsibilities on drills and all codes under disaster policy and procedure.
  • Wears PPE when needed for job.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Reports hazards or need for repairs to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Employee will comply with all Mille Lacs Health System (MLHS) policies, including safety policies, procedures, and rules.
  • All will be expected to report unsafe conditions to a member of management.
