About The Position

The Full-Time School Maintenance Worker is responsible for supporting the upkeep, safety, and functionality of school facilities. This role ensures that classrooms, common areas, and grounds are well-maintained, clean, and safe for students, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to lift up to fifty pounds.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior maintenance, custodial, or facilities experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with performing routine maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting).
Assist with preventative maintenance of building systems and equipment.
Maintain school grounds, including basic landscaping, snow removal, and trash removal.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
Set up and break down rooms for events, meetings, school lunch, and activities.
Identify safety hazards or repair needs as they arise.
Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are used safely and stored properly.
Comply with school and Archdiocese policies, safety standards, and local regulations.
Communicate effectively with school staff regarding maintenance needs.
Occasionally help with needs at Parish Center and Church.
