Maintenance Worker
About The Position
Canam Bridges designs, manufactures and installs steel bridges for major infrastructure contractors across North America. Canam Bridges is a member of Canam Group, which has over 5,100 employees and operates 22 plants in North America, as well as engineering offices in Canada, Romania, India and the Philippines. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing production equipment and electrical or electronic components of machinery and equipment. The essential functions include diagnosing and repairing production equipment, handling a variety of building or facility maintenance issues, and rebuilding/upgrading machinery. Additional responsibilities include producing quality products, performing other job-related duties such as cleaning and scrap removal, maintaining a positive work atmosphere, and performing daily cleaning and maintenance of the work area. The position requires working in a safe and conscientious manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent plus one to two years of related experience.
- Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Experience in welding and metal fabricating.
- Able to cut with torches.
- Ability to interpret parts manuals.
Nice To Haves
- Prior maintenance-related experience, including electrical and pneumatic, desired.
- Knowledge of DC controls, automotive (diesel) also helpful.
- Experience in basic hydraulics helpful.
- Significant experience in electrical or cranes a plus.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair, as necessary, production equipment and electrical or electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair production equipment.
- Repair of a variety of building or facility maintenance issues.
- Rebuild and upgrade machinery.
- Produce a product that meets recognized standards and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to, cleaning, trash/scrap removal, and other production related jobs.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, co-workers, clients and supervisors.
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the area.
- Work in a safe and conscientious manner.
