About The Position

Provide quality cleanliness oversight to assigned building(s). This role involves maintaining cleanliness in assigned areas, carrying out minor repairs, and managing exterior upkeep. The Maintenance Worker will also assist with special events, maintain tools and machinery, order supplies, and help with moving items within the facility. Compliance with company policies and willingness to assist in emergencies are essential. The role also includes assisting with apartment turnovers and general building maintenance.

Requirements

  • At least one year of maintenance & cleaning experience in a large residential or Program setting.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Experience working within a Supportive Housing setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility, including floor care, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash and recyclables, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairways.
  • Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility.
  • Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the grounds, including sidewalk maintenance and landscaping.
  • Assist Staff with special events by setting up chairs and tables and ensuring the area is clean and safe.
  • Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Order cleaning supplies, paper supplies, lightbulbs, garbage bags, etc., and maintaining biweekly inventory if no superintendent is present.
  • Assist in moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, office equipment, dorm furniture, consumer belongings, and other items in and around the facility.
  • Comply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures and Protocols and SUS Cooperate Compliance Policies.
  • Willing to assist when EMERGENCIES arise in the Facility.
  • Wear SUS maintenance uniform and maintain it so that it is clean and presentable at the start of each shift.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by Director or Superintendent.
  • Attend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings as needed.
  • Assist with apartment turnover following move outs, including plastering, sanding walls, painting, and transporting residents and property to new apartments/units.
  • Assist Super with the maintenance of the building.
