About The Position

The purpose of this position is to support the Facility Supervisor in completing daily tasks in the Maintenance Department by assisting the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Technician. This role involves providing assistance and support, performing preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and general building and grounds upkeep. The position also includes documentation and safety tasks, as well as ensuring custodial supplies are ordered and stocked.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic skills: Ability to log in, log out, and easily navigate through MS Windows-based interface.
  • Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Basic Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Handing tools, parts, and equipment to technicians, setting up workstations, and cleaning work areas.
  • Lubricating machines, cleaning equipment, replacing air filters, and changing light bulbs.
  • Performing minor fixes, including repairing broken locks, filling wall gaps, and performing basic plumbing or electrical tasks.
  • Performing general exterior maintenance like power washing.
  • Assisting in identifying issues, checking safety systems, and maintaining records of repairs.
  • Ensure custodial supplies are ordered and stocked.
  • Inventory and maintain equipment.
  • Clean equipment and maintenance shop.
