About The Position

Kainaiwa Children’s Services Corporation is a growing, dynamic First Nations organization providing programs and services to Blood Tribe children and families in need of support and protection so that they can become positive, healthy contributing members of our community; While maintaining KCSC’s Vision, Mission Statements and incorporating Blood Tribe Traditions through “Kainayssini” the Declaration of the Elders of the Blood Indian Nation. POSITION OVERVIEW Under the direction of the Residential Services Manager; the maintenance worker shall be responsible for plumbing, electrical, access control and HVAC maintenance, perform regular preventative maintenance and respond to requests and complaints of designated areas of KCSC Residential Services Programs. Areas include kitchen, offices, restaurants, and outside building (pick up garbage, shoveling, etc.); as well as other duties requested by the Program Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Facility Operations and Maintenance Certificate or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum three years of general maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems.
  • WHMIS Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Successful completion of CWIS and CPIC clearance checks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and minor repairs.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of HVAC systems and building equipment.
  • Inspect facilities and grounds, identify maintenance needs, and prioritize repairs.
  • Coordinate and monitor external contractors and service providers as required.
  • Maintain building interiors and exteriors, including lawn care, snow removal, and general cleanliness.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Comply with organizational policies and occupational health and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
