Maintenance Worker
About The Position
Responsible for responding to general maintenance work orders throughout the center. Duties include performing interior and exterior janitorial, building maintenance, and groundskeeping assignments. This role also involves minor building construction tasks, potentially working with Work Based Learning students, and ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and stored properly. The position requires adherence to all CSD policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and attending scheduled training and staff meetings. CPR and First Aid certification is required.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write English at a high school level.
- At least six months of general maintenance experience.
- Must have a valid Driver License.

- Possess a High School Diploma.
- One-year experience of general maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate maintenance techniques.
- Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
- Ability to operate office equipment.
- Ability to work alone occasionally.
- 85% of time spent working and interacting with team and other departments.
- Ability to read at a high school level.
- Ability to write at a high school level.
Responsibilities
- Performs interior and exterior center janitorial, building maintenance and ground keeping assignments according to work orders.
- Performs minor building construction tasks.
- Mows lawns, maintains grounds, picks up trash and papers.
- Cares for plants, trees, and flowers.
- Ensures that all tools and equipment are in good repair and kept in appropriate storage sheds and closets.
- Transports equipment and/or commodities throughout the center.
- Change light bulbs, replace faculty electrical cords, etc.
- Ensures all equipment and facilities are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, CSD and DOL standards.
- Attends all training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled.
- Is CPR and First Aid Certifiable.
- Maintains a work environment of zero accidents and injuries including no loss-time accidents.
- Ensures a work environment that provides an equal opportunity for all.
