About The Position

Performs unskilled and semi-skilled manual work involving the cleaning and maintenance of City parking facilities including cleaning windows, bathrooms, walls, offices, elevators, etc. Empties trash containers and replaces plastic liners. Performs a variety of tasks involving significant physical effort. Operates power tools and mechanical cleaning equipment. Performs maintenance tasks utilizing equipment requiring some manipulative skills. This position entails working under challenging conditions, including exposure to environmental hazards such as excessive noise, vehicle exhaust, and inclement weather. The role requires prolonged physical exertion (standing/walking) within active, high-traffic areas featuring restricted visibility and reversing vehicles. The employee must maintain high situational awareness and comply with all safety regulations, including wearing required high-visibility apparel and personal protective equipment (PPE) to manage risks of slips, trips, and falls.

Requirements

Some experience in building/industrial cleaning, maintenance, or facilities work required.
Valid Florida driver license required.
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
Ability to work without close supervision once tasks are learned.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, often under hot and humid environmental conditions.
Ability to climb stairs and use ladders.
Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
Ability to operate pressure washer, golf-cart, vehicle, lawnmower, and power tools.
