About The Position

The Oaks at Pleasant Gap, a personal care and independent living community, is actively seeking candidates for Maintenance Worker positions. This position will maintain the grounds and facility in a safe and clean manner. This is a full-time, 1st shift position, with opportunities also available for part-time work during the week.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid PA driver license, current auto insurance, and a current, clean driving record required.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift or move a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance functions in accordance with daily work assignments/schedules, including but not limited to: light bulb monitoring and changing, changing filters, monitoring temperatures, monitoring fire safety equipment and detectors, setting up and tearing down rooms for meetings and resident functions, move and deliver packages and furniture.
  • Transport residents via facility vehicle, ensures vehicles are safe to operate.
  • Clean, strip and wax floors, shampoo carpets.
  • Remove trash and infectious waste.
  • Unclog drains.
  • Perform grounds care including mowing, snow removal, landscaping clean-up, weed control, and external sweeping.
  • Assure that the maintenance area and equipment is stored correctly and safely and is maintained in working order.
  • Perform housekeeping duties of maintenance including floor, wall, ceiling, and fixture and equipment care.
  • Report all hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  • Follow infection control policies and procedures, uses Personal Protective Equipment, if needed.
  • Follow fire safety policies and procedures and established smoking regulations.
  • Replenish supplies in work area and keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
  • Safe management of maintenance equipment is required to protect residents.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of resident information.
  • Honor the residents’ personal property, personal space and rights.
  • Report all resident and staff grievances, complaints, and issues to supervisor.
  • Attend and participate in in-service training, department meetings and general staff meetings.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
  • Follow attendance and facility dress code policies.
  • Deals tactfully, patiently, enthusiastically, and harmoniously with residents, personnel, family members and visitors.
  • Follow written and oral instructions from supervisors.
