About The Position

The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair tasks across plant facilities and equipment. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and basic structural components. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying issues, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
1–3 years of general maintenance experience (industrial or plant environment preferred)
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems
Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and technical documents
Valid driver's license (if required for the role)
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor assembly issues
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Time management, record keeping and ability to prioritize effectively
Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
Strong work ethic and reliability
Safety-conscious with knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, machinery, and facilities
Conduct routine inspections to identify issues and prevent equipment failure
Repair and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and drainage
Troubleshoot and perform basic electrical repairs (e.g., lighting, outlets, minor wiring)
Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
Complete basic carpentry tasks such as repairing structures, doors, and fixtures
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and working conditions
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections
Accurately and promptly record completed work, materials used, and any issues encountered
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality
Maintain Safety training videos
