Maintenance Worker I, II, III

Delta County Colorado•Delta, CO
•$22 - $24•Onsite

About The Position

Delta County is hiring a Maintenance Worker in one of three tiers, with increasing responsibility, experience, and independence. The role performs general maintenance and repairs for County equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical work, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, building systems, basic construction, and equipment operation. The position is primarily based at a designated Delta County office, with off-site work as needed; generally, at least 95% of duties are performed at that office unless an alternative arrangement is approved in writing. Level I performs routine and repetitive work under close supervision, applying basic skills within established procedures. Level II performs simple to moderately complex, manual-skilled maintenance work at an intermediate level, with minimal supervision and greater independence. Level III performs complex skilled work across a variety of trades under limited supervision, may lead projects and guide less-experienced workers, and may act as lead maintenance worker when the Building and Grounds Supervisor is absent. Maintenance employees participate in rotating on-call duties and may be called to respond to emergencies. Weekend on-call coverage runs from Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 7:00 a.m.; employees may also serve as scheduled during the week. An employee called to a facility for an urgent need outside normal work hours must respond within 30 minutes. Time worked, including travel, is paid or a minimum of two hours, whichever is greater. Employees may also be called to support emergency response, disasters, and recovery efforts, including adjusted work hours as directed. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
