About The Position

The purpose of this position is to maintain the interior and exterior of City facilities and grounds. This is accomplished by performing routine maintenance on the interior and exterior of buildings; and maintaining grounds. Other duties include assisting other divisions as needed; and interacting with other City employees and citizens.

Requirements

• Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines.
• Level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.
• Under and including one year of experience.
• Valid Driver's License required

Responsibilities

• Maintains the exterior of facilities by sweeping sidewalks: using the pressure washer to clean scales and sidewalks; remove litter, debris, and trash; mowing lawns; weed eating and tree trimming.
• Maintains grounds picking up litter ;emptying trash barrels; maintaining Landfill grounds, mowing grass; trimming trees.
• Provides customer service to the public by providing information as requested; and ensuring the security of guests.
• Operates heavy equipment by performing maintenance activities, using equipment such as loader, riding mower, tractor, and mobile sweeper.
• Provides grounds maintenance by operating riding mower and tractor; maintaining common areas, large fields, and acreage; removing debris out of the mower’s path; trimming trees; using a weed eater around trees; and cleaning along the edge of the fence with a mobile weed eater.
• Maintains the exterior of facilities by removing trash and other debris; cleaning sidewalks and walkways; mowing grounds around the facility; using a weed eater around trees; checking trash cans and emptying them as needed; ensuring that facilities are neat and presentable.
