Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (HBHH) currently has an opening for Full-Time Maintenance Technician, Monday-Friday. 8a-5p.

Requirements

  • Must live close enough to get to the hospital within 45 minutes of receiving a call.
  • Drywall and painting experience.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and report to supervisors
  • Climbing, ability to ascend descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps using feet, legs, hands and arms.
  • Body agility is important.
  • Maintaining bodily equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Stooping, bending downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist; kneeling bending a the knees to come to rest on single or both knees; crouching bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine; crawling, moving about on hands, knees and feet; reaching, extending hands and arms in any direction.

Responsibilities

  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
  • Performs light maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs, inspect circuit breaker panels etc.)
  • Maintain plumbing systems to ensure functionality
  • Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
  • Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, sheetrock etc.)
  • Moves furniture, sets up rooms, and manages inventory of cleaning and repair supplies.
  • Maintains logs of completed work, repairs, and inspections.
  • Complete work orders assigned by Director of Plant Operations or Maintenance Supervisor
