About The Position
Maine Veterans’ Homes is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to join their team at MVH – Scarborough. This role is responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, employees, and the public. The position also supports the Environmental Services Manager in maintaining compliance with all federal and state environmental care regulations. This is a full-time role, operating Monday through Friday, and includes shared on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years of experience, education and/or training in general maintenance and repair work.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, masonry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, grounds keeping, and custodial functions.
- Must possess and maintain a current and valid State of Maine driver’s license.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English.
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English.
- Basic computer skills.
