About The Position

This position performs a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks under direct supervision of a Foreman, Lead Worker, or other higher-level classified employees. Duties may involve the use of hand and power tools and the operation of light truck and construction equipment as a part of the assignment. Duties may be performed under adverse weather or working conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an U.S. Department of Education accredited institution is preferred.
• Tree pruning/grounds cleanup experience is desired.
• An equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered for minimum requirements.
• Possession of a valid Florida driver's license and an acceptable driving record is required.
• Possessing and maintaining certifications in Maintenance of Traffic(MOT) and Electrical Awareness Program (EHAP) are required.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read and write neatly .
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
• Ability to follow and apply common sense understanding, to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
• Ability to work independently and in a diligent manner.
• Ability to use various hand and power tools related to the job.
• Good physical condition is essential.
• This job requires walking, standing, pushing, bending, stooping, equipment operation and driving.
• The employee may work in an office environment or outside in various weather conditions.
• Working in or with moving vehicles and/or equipment may be required as well as working from heights, in dusty condition, with hands, feet, and/or legs in water and may handle chemicals .
• Lifting: Lift up to 75 Pounds
• Vision: 20/20 or Corrected to 20/100
• Environment: Inside Work/Outside Work in Various Conditions
• Hearing: Moderate to High Noise Levels for Work Environment

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor tasks related to tree pruning, removing and planting.
• Tasks include, but are not limited to, dragging and chipping brush, felling and bucking logs, handling ropes, cleaning and maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
