About The Position

This position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of traffic control signs and pavement markings. The role involves keeping accurate records of sign installations, preparing sign work orders, and updating computer records. Adherence to all safety standards for the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices is crucial. The job also includes setting up barricades for lane and road closures, city events, and neighborhood activities, as well as maintaining barricades, cones, flasher units, and other traffic supplies. There is an opportunity to learn sign manufacturing, installation, and pavement marking processes.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record.
• CDL - class B with airbrakes.
• Knowledge of standards for installation of traffic control and pavement markings per the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
• Knowledge of lane and road closure standards per the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety standards.
• Willingness to work off-standard shift hours (nights, weekends, call backs) as required as well as emergency over time.
• Experience working with and leading seasonal employees.
• Willingness and ability to learn the sign manufacturing process.
