About The Position

Part-time position includes weekends and some holidays. Pay rate $18.07 per hour. Under direct supervision, performs semi-skilled and unskilled work to assist in the maintenance and cleaning of City grounds including trash removal in assigned areas. More specifically, ensures that street ends, beachside parks, and street end trash cans are attended to. Reports to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor. This is a Thursday through Monday work week from 5:30 AM to 10:30 AM. May be asked to work special events and some holidays if required.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in ground maintenance
• Must have and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including lawn mowers, edgers, tractors, etc.
• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

• Performs general landscape maintenance duties.
• Polices areas to remove debris and litter.
• Removes trash from trash cans in designated areas.
• Must deal with city staff and general public in a positive and professional way.
• May be required to work during a declared emergency and may be requested to work during an undeclared emergency or in the aftermath of an event associated with a declared emergency.
