About The Position

Removes trash and debris from city receptacles and public areas. Ensures city right-of-ways meet cleanliness standards by following established routes either on foot or by vehicle. Performs landscape work in public right-of-ways which may include planting, weeding, maintaining flower beds, and pruning of plant material and trees. Works with landscape tools and on ladders. Work is assigned by the designated crew leader and is inspected for quality and productivity.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• A valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
• Must meet physical and environmental demands of working outdoors in all weather conditions for most of the day; exposure to insects, chemicals, and traffic fumes; danger of working in public right-of-way; and performing demanding physical labor.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be comfortable working on ladders.

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months experience in Grounds Maintenance or Landscaping preferred.
