About The Position

The primary function of this position is to perform moderately heavy janitorial duties in maintaining county buildings and facilities. This position also performs semi-skilled work in assisting in repairing and maintaining property and grounds using a variety of machines, tools, equipment, and inmate labor.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
No prior related work experience is required.
Must be able to understand and communicate in English.
A valid Florida Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

Sanitizes restrooms and empties trash.
Vacuums all carpets.
Cleans furniture.
Maintains the appearance of the grounds.
Cleans floors, sweeps, mops, waxes, etc.
Helps move files, desks, furniture, etc.
Dusts desks, shelves, window blinds, etc.
Cleans windows and window seals.
Drives County vehicles transporting tools, equipment, and inmate workers to worksite.
Observes all rules related to the use of inmate labor, including paperwork, supervision, transport, sign-in/sign-out, safety supervision, and adherence of all workers and co-workers to the rules for inmate workers established by the Sheriff.
Maintains required qualifications for signing out inmate workers.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
In the event of special, emergency, or disaster situations, employee may be required to work schedules other than those for which they are regularly scheduled in any capacity deemed appropriate.
