About The Position

Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) has an immediate opening for a motivated Maintenance Whizard Tech to work in our world-class processing facility. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude, able to change blades and maintain whizard knifes to support our Operations Team. This Full-Time opportunity works for 8-10 hours a day, including some overtime. Shift hours for this position are 10:00pm - 6:35am.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED; some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Understand principles of machinery lubrication and machinery operations.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as grease guns, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines and possess reasonable trouble shooting abilities.
  • Prompt and regular attendance required for the job.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required - team player.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work well independently.
  • Offers are contingent on applicants ability to successfully pass a skill test
  • Following the offer, applicants are required to pass a physical assessment, which includes a lifting test and a drug screen.
  • The candidate will be able to work and perform tasks in confined spaces and be able to wear appropriate hearing protection for the duration of the shift.
  • They must also be able to perform lockout / tag out procedures on equipment once trained and always work safely in and around equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections of whizard knifes on all production departments.
  • Change whizard knifes blades
  • Disassemble, reassemble, and lubricate whizard knifes, housing, pinion, down to frame.
  • Disassemble and reassemble whizard knifes cables.
  • Swap whizard knife motors.
  • Sanitize whizard knifes when operations floors are finished.
  • Set-up all appropriate whizard knifes on floors and reassembly prior to start-up.
  • Trade in dull whizard blades to supply after being removed and cleaned.
  • Notify Supervisor if parts/pieces are missing upon arrival of whizard knifes.
  • Perform work safely at all times, following all safety policies, GMP's and procedures.
  • Maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Leadership Team.
