About The Position

Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) has an immediate opening for a motivated Maintenance Whizard Tech to work in our world-class processing facility. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude, able to change blades and maintain whizard knifes to support our Operations Team. This Full-Time opportunity works for 8-10 hours a day, including some overtime. Shift hours for this position are 10:00pm - 6:35am.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or GED; some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
Understand principles of machinery lubrication and machinery operations.
Ability to use hand tools such as grease guns, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
Must be able to visually inspect machines and possess reasonable trouble shooting abilities.
Prompt and regular attendance required for the job.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required - team player.
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work well independently.
Offers are contingent on applicants ability to successfully pass a skill test
Following the offer, applicants are required to pass a physical assessment, which includes a lifting test and a drug screen.
The candidate will be able to work and perform tasks in confined spaces and be able to wear appropriate hearing protection for the duration of the shift.
They must also be able to perform lockout / tag out procedures on equipment once trained and always work safely in and around equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance inspections of whizard knifes on all production departments.
Change whizard knifes blades
Disassemble, reassemble, and lubricate whizard knifes, housing, pinion, down to frame.
Disassemble and reassemble whizard knifes cables.
Swap whizard knife motors.
Sanitize whizard knifes when operations floors are finished.
Set-up all appropriate whizard knifes on floors and reassembly prior to start-up.
Trade in dull whizard blades to supply after being removed and cleaned.
Notify Supervisor if parts/pieces are missing upon arrival of whizard knifes.
Perform work safely at all times, following all safety policies, GMP's and procedures.
Maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Leadership Team.
