About The Position

Alter Trading Corporation Company, a privately held company with several scrap metal processing facilities throughout the Midwest and Southern region, is searching for a Maintenance/Welder on day shift at its Green Bay, WI facility. This position will be responsible for basic repairs such as performing work on conveyors, changing motor boxes, changing bearings, and stick welding. The role operates welding equipment and assists with general maintenance needs, including welding/repairing trailers, roll-off containers, and lugger containers. It also involves repairing shredders, conveyors, and other machinery as needed, with potential fabrication duties. The Maintenance/Welder will assist the maintenance department with preventative maintenance and repairs, and operate equipment as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Safety is paramount, requiring the use of all necessary PPE and adherence to company safety standards.

Requirements

Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 – 50 pounds.
Welding (stick) and fabricating skills are required.
2-3 years welding experience
2-3 years preventative maintenance experience
Ability to perform work on conveyors, motor boxes and bearings
Stick welding: 2-3 years (Required)

Responsibilities

Operates welding equipment and assists with general maintenance needs.
Welds/repairs trailers, roll-off containers and lugger containers.
Repairs shredder, conveyors and other machinery as needed.
May include fabrication duties.
Assists the maintenance department with preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
Operates equipment as needed.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard.
Follows company safety standards at all times.
