The Maintenance Utilityperson performs emergency and routine maintenance within residential, commercial, and public spaces. This role involves diagnosing and correcting maintenance problems using blueprints, manuals, and catalogs. Responsibilities include plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of building fixtures, as well as installation and troubleshooting of electronic and electrical fixtures up to 110 volts. The position also entails fabrication, repair, and installation of cabinets, shelving, and interior doors, along with HVAC repairs and preventative maintenance of various mechanical equipment. The Utilityperson is responsible for accurately recording work performed, materials used, and jobs in progress on work orders, measuring building materials, and maintaining a detailed log of vehicle activities. Ensuring a clean and safe environment during and after work completion is also a key duty. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor. Note that duties may vary depending on the department or shop to which the Utilityperson is assigned.
