About The Position

Sam Baker Hospitality, located in the scenic Sam A. Baker State Park in Patterson, Missouri, offers lodging, retail sales, a cafe, and watercraft rentals. This role involves performing a variety of basic skills for the upkeep of buildings and grounds across Sam A. Baker State Park and Lake Wappapello State Park, including lodging, retail stores, restaurants, and housing.

Requirements

Demonstrate basic skill in the use of tools, materials, and equipment common to maintenance and repair.
Possess the initiative to learn and willingness to grow in maintenance operations.
Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms, crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges, and roofs and understand applicable OSHA safety requirements.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
Must have a valid driver’s license to operate vehicles throughout the property.

Nice To Haves

Technical certification/degree preferred.
National Park experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Receive and complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner according to Maintenance Department policies and procedures.
Assist in the completion, tracking, and reporting of work orders.
Perform general painting, carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, masonry, and landscaping maintenance.
Perform assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings, facilities, furnishings, and equipment.
Provide hands-on repairs in most maintenance disciplines.
Comply with all safety policies and procedures, including those related to lifting and climbing.
Assist other team members with maintenance-related tasks.
Provide polite, knowledgeable, and timely customer service when responding to visitor inquiries.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s ISO (Environmental & Quality) management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives, and meet specific responsibilities within these areas.
Perform other duties as assigned per the Duties Checklist.
