About The Position

The Maintenance Utility position at Pilgrim's involves coordinating projects, communicating results, and performing preventive maintenance. This role requires diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment and system malfunctions, conducting training for new technicians, and monitoring energy output. The Utility Technician ensures the proper functioning and safety of utility systems, including water and gas lines, electrical power grids, and telecommunications networks. Responsibilities include cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and repairing machinery and equipment, as well as disassembling machinery to inspect for defects and replace compromised components. The position also involves studying blueprints and manufacturer's manuals for correct installation and operation of machinery. The role actively follows regulatory agency compliance requirements, supports company and department goals, and promotes quality improvement. The individual is expected to be an effective team member, pursue personal growth, and determine if immediate maintenance action is required. Escorting on-site contractors, vendors, guests, or visitors throughout the facility as needed is also part of the role. Expertise in assessing utility systems and identifying utility-related issues is crucial.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related industrial operations experience.
  • Ability to learn/follow national/local standard operating procedures.
  • On site training and off site training will be provided for the equipment that is to be serviced.

  • Provide expertise in assessing utility systems in place.
  • Identify all aspects of utility-related issues.
  • Performs all work in compliance with standard operating/maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Saving Rules, Safe Start and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation, IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections.
  • Acquiring knowledge/ability in all plant operations including processes/equipment.
  • Exhibits understanding of governmental regulations including environmental permitting/compliance, loading /quality assurance, basic electricity, national/local operating procedures, CMMS, maintenance management process, all HSE issues associated with the facility.
  • Exhibits mechanical ability.
  • Ability to learn/follow national/local standard operating procedures.
