About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Maintenance Utility Tech to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA! This is a daylight position that averages 54 hours per week from 6 am - 4:30 pm, M-F. There is additional overtime every other Saturday from 6 am - 2:30 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $16.50 per hour. The Maintenance Utility Technician supports facility operations by operating forklifts and other equipment, transporting materials, and maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of the campus. This role assists maintenance and operations teams by performing a variety of material handling, groundskeeping, and facility support tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Forklift certification or ability to complete company‑provided training
  • Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Minden, LA facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive material‑handling tasks
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work safely around moving equipment and vehicles
  • Clear vision with or without corrective lenses, including color identification
  • Ability to work in environments with dust, noise, and seasonal weather exposure
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety eyewear and steel‑toed boots
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform basic math and blueprint reading

  • Experience in maintenance, construction, or industrial environments
  • Experience operating forklifts, backhoes, dump trucks, or similar equipment
  • Groundskeeping or facility maintenance experience
  • Experience operating zero-turn lawn mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, or similar groundskeeping equipment
  • Experience operating multiple types of powered or material‑handling equipment

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and other powered equipment to load, unload, and transport materials across throughout the facility
  • Perform daily equipment safety inspections and follow safe operation and refueling procedures
  • Load, unload, and move materials, including oversized equipment and waste
  • Maintain facility cleanliness, including trash removal, sweeping, and debris control
  • Support groundskeeping activities such as mowing, weed-eating, and herbicide application
  • Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, including zero-turn lawn mowers, push mowers, and weed eaters
  • Transport and dispose of scrap, waste, and excess materials
  • Assist with maintenance of sediment pits and campus infrastructure
  • Coordinate dumpster pickups and support waste management processes
  • Navigate facility layout to efficiently support production and maintenance needs
  • Assist with campus and maintenance projects as needed
  • Follow all safety rules, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
